Flourishing adults, flourishing children: how Dixons is leading the way in flexible working
Posted 12th November 2025
Yesterday, Faizal Musa, one of our school and college trust leaders, delivered a keynote address at the CST People and Culture Conference 2025, held at the Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre.
This year’s theme, “Flourishing adults, flourishing children,” highlights how staff wellbeing, professional fulfilment, and a sense of agency underpin the success of schools and trusts.
In his keynote, Faizal shared our experience of implementing the nine-day fortnight, a flexible working approach that gives staff a genuine day off every fortnight to rest, reflect, or invest in personal development.
He reflected on how our way of working, with collaborative planning, meetings built into the day, and increased non-contact time helps colleagues focus on what really matters: mastery, autonomy, and purpose.
We’re proud to see our innovative, people-first approach recognised nationally, and to demonstrate how flourishing adults help children to flourish.
