Sector support

Our ‘Why’ has always been to challenge educational and social disadvantage in the North. Through our Dixons OpenSource channel, we endeavour to widen that challenge beyond our region by openly sharing the principles that flow through everything we do. With Dixons OpenSource we share with trusts and schools a free, on-demand space to think about what we’ve learnt in our organisation and what that might look like in others.

At Dixons, our mission informs, shapes and permeates what we do – everything maps from our mission. Dixons OpenSource covers everything from assessment to coaching to future planning and more, and we continue to build this library on a weekly basis.

Partnership support

We have been providing partnership support through the behaviour hubs, TSIO, PEIA schemes and direct partnership agreements for over five years. All of our partners saw improvements in behaviour data and all improved by one Ofsted grade minimum, or maintained an upwards trajectory.

Dixons partnerships succeed by balancing fidelity to core principles (high expectations, consistency) with flexibility to the school’s unique needs; our OpenSource model drives sustainable change. We consistently take a relational approach to our partnership work: context and rooting in community is essential to successful implementation.

For three years, Dixons Trinity was a lead school in the DfE behaviour hubs programme: mentoring leaders from partner schools, delivering training, hosting visits, sharing resources and regular meetings to check on progress. Our approach is to work with partner schools to implement their own artefacts, informed and enabled by resources from Dixons, and carefully adjusted. Therefore, routines are developed from the starting point of the school’s mission and values, not simply implementing an artefact seen during a visit day: this reflects our focus on sustainability and impact.
