We're partnering with the Better lives charity to develop a community hub

Posted 7th March 2025

At Dixons, we're working on developing community hubs at all of our academies across our trust to foster stronger local partnerships.

We're pleased to be partnering with Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust's Better Lives charity to develop one of our community hubs at Dixons Allerton Academy. The charity has been awarded almost £200,000 to work with Dixons Allerton Academy and another academy in the Bradford region.

The funds will be used over two years to set up community health hubs, aiming to provide coordinated support for children and families.

Our community hub model will aim to make sure that families in need receive the support necessary to overcome barriers, empowering their children to thrive both in school and beyond. The team at Dixons Allerton Academy recently held a 'Healthy Futures One Stop Health Shop' event which brought together a range of services under one roof, to test the concept with parents, children, and young people.

Through our community health hubs, we will work in partnership with local agencies to enable families to access the necessary health services all in one place, to mitigate the challenges our families face when navigating the various health services.
