School uniform donated to Dixons' Bradford schools

Dixons Manningham Primary School recently featured on ITV Calendar News, where Principal Terri Leighton discussed how the academy are doing everything they can to support their students throughout the current cost of living crisis. The academy’s breakfast club numbers have doubled from 60 to 120 in the last year due to the community simply not being able to cope with the rising food costs. The school is also giving out free fruit and vegetables to ensure students continue getting a balanced diet despite the hard times and food inflation rates being the highest they’ve been since 1978.
A huge positive is that they have recently been donated school uniform, in a scheme funded by Vanquis banking Group. All of our primary and secondary academies in Bradford benefitted from this donation, with over 800 of our children supported by the £61,000 worth of uniform donated.
Rob Lawson, Vanquis Banking Group, said: “If we can do our bit by alleviating some of the pressures by supporting the purchase of school uniform and associated equipment to enable to children to get on in school, it means that children don’t miss out on education which is vitally important.”
