Ofsted 'Outstanding in all areas' judgment for Dixons Trinity Chapeltown

Posted 31st January 2022

Staff and students at Dixons Trinity Chapeltown were thrilled with the announcement this week that the school has been graded outstanding in all areas by Ofsted. Dixons Trinity Chapeltown is part of the highly successful Dixons Academies Trust whose mission is to challenge educational and social disadvantage in the North. Dixons Trinity Chapeltown, a newly built all-through school educating children from the ages of four to sixteen, opened in 2017 in the heart of Chapeltown.

The mission of Dixons Trinity Chapeltown is that all children will succeed at university, or a real alternative, thrive in a top job and have a great life. The school challenges social inequality by having high expectations for all children and creating an environment in which children are supported to climb their mountain to and through University. Students are happy and proud to attend school and know how to achieve their high aspirations. They enjoy being challenged and are intrinsically motivated - Ofsted stated that 'pupils behaviour in lessons is exemplary, they are hard-working and diligent.'

The report also states that Dixons Trinity Chapeltown is 'a school with excellence at the core of everything that takes place'. This is achieved by having a values driven culture where hard work, trust and fairness permeate all that staff and students do. Ofsted highlighted that 'the school is a true learning community' with one student saying 'we are all part of a family together.'

The Principal, Natalie Brookshaw, is incredibly proud of governors, staff, students and families for creating an outstanding school for the Chapeltown and Harehills area of Leeds. 'We are committed to creating a world class school which will transform the lives of every child who attends by creating equality of opportunity' she said.

'We are looking forward to building on the work we have already started with the Chapeltown and Harehills communities to provide a truly cradle to career pathway – I am extremely proud and already looking forward to seeing how our students will change the world and cannot wait to welcome an ex-student to our staff team in the future.'

Ofsted stated that there is a 'shared mission that all pupils will secure high levels of success' – the school is very excited for this to come to fruition when the first ever cohort get their GCSE results in the summer of 2023!
