Dixons Trinity Academy student represents England U16s Community Lions Rugby League Team

Posted 4th June 2025

We are incredibly proud to share that Year 11 student and current Head Boy at Dixons Trinity, Maverick Rhodes, has been selected to represent England U16s Community Lions Rugby League Team. Maverick was chosen following a highly competitive national trial involving over 300 young athletes, securing one of just 20 places on the squad. He has since been appointed Vice Captain and has already played a key role in England’s opening victory over Scotland.

Maverick’s achievement is particularly special for Dixons as he has completed his entire educational journey within our trust - starting at Dixons Music Primary in 2013 as part of the school’s second ever cohort, and continuing his journey to Dixons Trinity.

Maverick is not only an accomplished athlete but also a deeply committed student leader. From school council roles at primary level to delivering speeches at major civic events, including for the “Young in Covid” project in 2023, his maturity and sense of civic duty have inspired both peers and professionals alike.

A talented musician and frequent performer at Dixons showcases, Maverick embodies what it means to strive for excellence in every area. He continues to balance academic success, leadership responsibilities, sporting commitments, and community service: all with a humility and grace that has left a lasting impression on all who know him.

We’re proud to be part of Maverick’s story. He represents the very best of our values and the power of a Dixons education.
