Learn how to effectively work through problems with students, step-by-step, while checking their understanding at every stage, providing practice to deepen learning and improve outcomes.
Who is this programme suitable for?
This programme is suitable for Dixons teaching staff, no matter their career stage, who want to:
- review how and why guided practice helps students to learn more effectively
- explore and review classroom-based models of guided practice, practicing and adapting these teaching strategies for different contexts
- put the 'I Do, We Do, You Do' model under the spotlight
Session curriculum
The sessions will include learning on:
- explicit instruction, models of guided practice and modelling
- promoting independent practice, teaching metacognitive strategies in guided practice
What is the commitment?
Two twilight sessions, delivered online.
