Dixons SENCO Practitioners / SENCO Line Managers Programme
A supportive programme for SENCOs and their line managers, or any practitioner looking to develop their skills confidence and best practice around SEND.
What are the programme Benefits?
This programme will support all SENCOs and line managers of SENCOS who are new to role and have not previously completed the programme. The programme will build your confidence in developing best practice and consistency across the SENCO role at Dixons, through clear, streamlined and purposeful systems and strategies and effective line management.
Who is this programme suitable for?
This programme compulsory for those who are a new SENCO or the SENCO manager role.
It is also suitable for:
- assistant SENCOS
- aspirational SENCOS
- mon-teaching inclusion lead roles
- senior leaders looking to develop their understanding of effective SEND provision and inclusive practice
Programme Curriculum?
The programme will include learning on:
- theory, policy, national picture, statutory documentation/effective processes and Ofsted
- effective SEND identification, consultation, transition and induction for SEND learners as well as provision mapping and assessments and referrals
- the SEND register, funding and fair coproduction (with families and agencies / LA)
- raising the profile of SEND – shared leadership, shared ownership
- all staff SEND CPD, how to foster a whole academy approach including the best deployment of associate staff and inclusive teaching strategies
- effective associate deployment
- working with safeguarding and behaviour

Next Steps for Dixons Teachers
If you are new to either the SENCO or the SENCO line manager role attendance is compulsory and you will automatically be invited to participate on this programme.
