Dixons Mentor Development
A supportive programme for mentors, or aspirational mentors, who want to get better at providing support and challenge for mentees.
What are the programme benefits?
Mentoring is a hugely influential role in our academies; we know that high quality support for teachers at the early stages of their career is crucial, and that teachers see mentoring as a fulfilling activity. We want to invest further in development for Dixons mentors and support this crucial role. This programme will support any Dixons teacher in becoming an expert mentor.
“This programme has allowed me to reflect on my practice in light of more recent research and talk to others to share the effective models that we all utilise."
Who is this programme suitable for?
This programme is suitable for Dixons teachers who act as a mentor, or aspire to, who are keen to:
- step back from processes and procedures to focus on what really makes a difference to our mentees
- get better at providing the appropriate balance of support and challenge for mentees

The programme will include learning on:
- impactful strategies to use in mentor meetings
- enhancing the training provided by ITT and ECF programmes
