Dixons Cup information

Below is a reminder of how your school can score points towards the Dixons Cup:

  • for every school competition you enter points are awarded for first (gold), second (silver) & third (bronze) place
  • gold: 100 points
  • silver: 75 points
  • bronze: 50 points
  • participation points: 25 points (reserved for non-competitive events).
  • at the end of the year, each school will receive additional points for their average attendance to competitions that they can participate in:
  • above 90% attendance: 100 points
  •  80% attendance: 75 points
  •  70% attendance: 50 points
  •  60% attendance: 25 points
  • school and college trust leaders are permitted to award individual academies and individual students points for special commendations

Academies can apply for additional points if they have success in any other local or national competitions outside of the Dixons Cup. For example, if your academy team finishes first, second or third in a regional school's rugby competition, then the school will be rewarded points. Likewise, if you have a student who wins a regional gold medal in the 100m or schools art competition, this could also add to your total points.

Additional points are only awarded for official school led competitions. External (outside-school) successes do not count towards the Dixons Cup.  As a general rule, scoring competitions must be open to all Dixons academies to enter nationally, regionally or across the trust. Please email evidence and results of competitions emailed to asutcliffe@dixonsat.com.
