Dixons Cup indoor rowing competition

Dixons Academies Trust indoor rowing competition for Key Stage 3

Key information:

Date: Tuesday 3rd December 2024
Hosted at: Dixons Cottingley Academy
Time: 3:45 – 5:30pm (please be on time, as race’s cannot begin until all teams have arrived).
Currently this competition is for our Bradford and Leeds based academies only.
Team entry forms must be in by Friday 22nd November 2024 via email to Jake Macdonald.
Races will comprise of a mixture of male and female individual races and mixed gender relay team races.
First, second and third place for individual and team relay event will be awarded points.

Rules:

Year 7 students to compete in 2-minute individual races.
Year 8 students to compete in 3-minute individual races.
Year 9 students to compete in 4-minute individual races.
A male and female from each year group will make up a relay team of six students (2x relay teams per school).
A relay race is 1-minute rowing each across 12 minutes, with a swift changeover in the middle.
Students must be wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for using Rowing machines.
No jewellery and long hair must be tied up securely for health & safety.
Any changes of student entries must be communicated prior to event day and all entries to be submitted by 12th January 2024.
