Many organisations rely on agendas prepared days in advance.

We don't.

Our weekly tactical meeting is built around what's happening now. Rather than following a fixed agenda, the conversation is shaped by the issues that matter most that week.

Inspired by Patrick Lencioni's approach, every tactical meeting follows the same disciplined structure.

We begin by reviewing actions from the previous meeting, ensuring clear accountability and making sure nothing slips through the cracks.

Next comes the lightning round, where every team member has just 30 seconds to share the work they're focused on. The aim isn't to report everything you're doing – it's to highlight information that others need to know. If a discussion is needed, it's added to the live agenda.

We then review our scorecard, looking at both our current strategic priorities and our ongoing operational objectives. Rather than using RAG ratings to judge performance, we use them to identify where a conversation is needed. Green celebrates exceptional progress, while red signals an issue that requires discussion.

The remainder of the meeting is spent working through the live agenda, tackling the most important operational issues first. Anything requiring deeper debate is parked for a future topical meeting, ensuring tactical meetings remain focused and productive.

This disciplined approach keeps our teams aligned, strengthens accountability and helps prevent strategy drift.
