Tom Copsey
Teacher of Maths
Tom grew up in Leeds in a family of five. He studied maths at Northumbria University, then went on to spend six years working in the financial sector before going back to university in 2018 to retrain to be a maths teacher. His very first teaching placement happened to be at Dixons City Academy.
Tom moved to Manchester in 2019 joining Manchester Health Academy as a teacher of mathematics before the academy joined the Dixons trust in January 2022. He is in his fourth year of teaching and has never looked back. From September, he started the position of director of standards for Year 11.
Outside of teaching, Tom spends his free time playing rugby, supporting Leeds united, socialising with friends and family, walking the dog and going to see as many new places as possible.
