Shara Hasan

Director of Curriculum Phase (Year 10 and Year 11)

Shara attended Dixons Cottingley Academy (known as Samuel Lister Academy at the time) in 2016 on a one-day supply contract. She was noticed for great relationships with students and strong behaviour management and asked to continue on a supply basis with a strong interest in teaching English, art and design technology. She was then approached to apply for a permanent position in the English department and secured this role.

Shara continued to work in the English department as well as being appointed as Head of Year 11 in 2018-2019. She then took on the position of director of curriculum phase (KS4 / upper phase Years 10 and 11) in 2020.

Shara is currently continuing with the above role as DOCP for the upper phase as well as teaching art, design technology, cookery and independent projects during co-curricular and Stretch.

Shara works closely with the pastoral team, removing barriers to learning with a focus on behaviour, safeguarding and attendance.
