Jake McDonald

Teacher of PE

Jake is a teacher of physical education at Dixons Cottingley Academy and has been with our trust for one year.

Jake is at the very start of his teaching career as an ECT1 following completion of his PGCE and QTS recently. Despite being so new in his career, he is already picking up leadership responsibilities within his department to better the outcomes and opportunities of our students.

Jake has wanted to be a teacher from a young age. His passion for sport and the science behind it led to him studying a BSc in sports science at Leeds Beckett University, making teaching PE the ideal profession.

Jake joined the shadow board as he wants to not only make a difference for the students he teaches now, but also wants to be part of making a lasting change to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds for generations to come. He believes that Dixons as a trust has the infrastructure and vision to make real change take place across the whole of the UK, jand has seen its impact at Dixons Cottingley.
