Mark Rothery

Executive Principal, Dixons Sixth Form Academy

Mark is passionate about post-16 education, having taught A level for over 20 years, worked as an A level principal and chief examiner and been involved significantly in teacher development and national changes.

He taught in York for 3 years before moving to a sixth form college in Middlesbrough where he led the provision for sciences for 9 years, whilst also delivering in service training to A level teachers nationally. He then stepped into senior leadership at Wyke Sixth form College in Hull where, amongst many other things, he focused on increasing the proportion of students progressing to Russel Group Universities and to securing places to study medicine, veterinary science and dentistry. Mark joined the Dixons group as principal designate of the new shared sixth form.
