Judith Kidd
Director, Dixons Centre for Growth
Initially starting as a subject leader at the then Dixons City Technology College, Judith has worked as a leader at Dixons Academies for more than 25 years. As a former advanced skills with a passion for pedagogy (the method and practice of teaching) and developing others, Judith’s role in modelling excellent teaching has always taken her to train and support teachers across the region.
Judith was senior vice-principal at Dixons City Academy when asked to develop collaboration and improvement opportunities across the fledgling multi-academy trust. She then combined teaching with establishing first-class professional development opportunities for Dixons teachers, forming the Dixons Teaching Institute. Judith feels privileged to broaden the impact of Dixons’ development work through the Dixons Centre for Growth.
In addition to leading on professional growth across Dixons, Judith forms school improvement partnerships in the region on behalf of the Educational Endowment Foundation (EEF) and Bradford Research School. She supports school trusts, regional local authorities and consortia across Yorkshire to build capacity for evidence-informed leadership and is consulted at national level as a leader in this field.
Judith’s particular areas of expertise are teacher development, coaching, effective implementation and developing evidence literacy at leadership. Judith designs and delivers teacher and leader development programmes at scale as well as working more intimately with individual schools over a sustained period.
Judith’s ardent belief in continued professional growth inspires her to support all colleagues to flourish and ensure the conditions for success for all our students.
