What are the programme benefits?
If you are interested in a career in teaching, we offer Transition to Teach, a short course that can help you to find out everything you need to know to start your journey into a uniquely rewarding profession. This programme will give you advice, support and help you plan your next steps.
Who is this programme suitable for?
This programme is suitable for Dixons associate staff who have:
- a passion for teaching and a love of the subject they would like to teach
- the ability to reflect on feedback and act on it to improve
- resilience and determination, which will enable them to make a difference to young people
- a strong belief in the potential of every child, regardless of their background
- a 2:2 or above in a degree linked to the subject they want to teach (or is working towards)
- Good A-levels or strong equivalents linked to the subject they want to teach
- Strong GCSEs including Grade C / 4 or above in English and maths
- for primary, a science GCSE Grade C / 4 or above
Programme curriculum
The sessions include learning on:
- Dixons teacher training and alternative training routes
- what qualities, experience and qualifications are required
- what makes a strong application
- how to maximise your experience in your current role
- individual career coaching
- support with applications and interview practice.
