Culture of revision
Students are supported to regularly revisit prior learning in order to interrupt the forgetting of knowledge. This approach, informed by knowledge of how our memory works, means that a culture of revision and review is at the heart of students’ everyday practice. At secondary level students use knowledge organisers in every subject as key review tools. They are taught how to revise their work to identify and prioritise gaps in their learning and to test themselves. Revision can take place in lessons, in dedicated academy sessions and at home. Revision at Dixons isn’t an activity that takes place just before exams, it is a regular, disciplined activity that empowers our learners and gives them confidence to excel.
