Primary Teacher Workshops

Evidence informed workshops for primary practitioners looking to learn and reflect on important themes of primary practice.

What are the benefits of these workshops?

These workshops focus on three key areas of practice: oracy, inclusion, and knowledge and remembering. Each area will have two workshops. The workshops look at various strategies from inclusive talk, closing the gap through scaffolding for lower attainers, and remembering and using new vocabulary, to removing barriers to inclusion, scaffolding strategies and supporting SEND in the classroom.

Who are the workshops suitable for?

The workshops are suitable for Dixons primary teachers who want to:

  • consider new strategies alongside other primary colleagues
  • develop their expertise in oracy, inclusion, or knowledge and remembering

Workshop curriculum

The workshops will include learning on:

  • moving beyond an introduction to leadership to receive training on key elements of leadership at primary
  • curriculum design for intent, implementation and impact
  • curriculum reviews and deep dives
  • lesson observations and feedback
  • developing subject knowledge
  • developing others

What is the commitment?

Five twilight sessions

One deep dive session in a school

One visit to another subject leader
