Consultation on changes to the admissions arrangements at Dixons Croxteth Academy for 2023-24

Posted on 19th May 2022

In May 2021 the De La Salle Academy received a Termination Warning Notice, with a view to closure in September this year. However, because the Local Authority now has a significant need for secondary places, the school will now remain open, although not under its current arrangements.

The De La Salle Trust will still close and the school will be run by a new sponsor, Dixons Academies Trust. (You may already be aware that in the past year we have taken on two other schools in north Liverpool, Dixons Broadgreen Academy and Dixons Fazakerley Academy.)

We are now consulting on the proposed changes to the admissions arrangements from September 2023 for the new school, which will be known as Dixons Croxteth Academy.

These changes involve:

  • the admission of girls as well as boys to become co-educational
  • re-designation a non-faith community academy and no longer a Catholic faith school

These changes bring the school into line with all the other schools we run.

Full details are available in the draft policy, which can be found here.

Comments on the proposed admissions arrangements should be made in writing by 30th June 2022.
