Help us make a difference as Chair of our Board of Trustees

Posted on 04.11.2020

Dixons seeks an exceptional individual to step into the role of Chair of the Board of Trustees and take the Trust on the next stage of its journey. This is a challenging role requiring an experienced leader with a track record of success, strong interpersonal skills, an adaptive approach and a strategic mindset.

The successful candidate will be passionate about making a tangible difference in children's lives, particularly those facing educational and social disadvantage in the North. They will share the Trust's commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

The new Chair will be able to manage an engaged, entrepreneurial team through a period of rapid expansion. and will therefore have previous experience of growing organisations of a similarly complex nature.

Given the geographic dispersion of the multiple sites across which the Trust operates, including Liverpool and Manchester in the years ahead, applications from those with multisite operations experience would be particularly welcome.

While previous Chair experience is not essential, candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage robust discussion among Trustees and possess outstanding listening, interpersonal and ambassadorial skills. The Chair will need to form a strong, open and constructive working relationship with the leadership team and will be skilled in robust, non-confrontational challenge.
